Thanks to Moo, I have just lost a significant part of my day playing with a new iPad app called Wallpaper Creator – Granimator! The fabulous app, created by the ustwo digital design studio helps you to create unique iPad and iPhone wallpapers. But after playing around for a while, I thought it might be useful to create unique artwork for the home too.

My first go at the Granimator!

My first go at the Granimator!

I’m no artist, but I can see that with a little time and patience, I might end up creating loads of artwork for my home and maybe even others.

Each time it’s used, it creates a unique style, functionality and sound. Plus, since they work with some of the most cutting edge designers and artists in the world, it looks pretty amazing as well, and Granimator users can share their work through all the usual social media.

Pop over to the app store and have a try.

A quick look at Objectify (3rd in the Vintage Shops series)

Time for the 3rd in the Peachey Design Vintage Shops series! I’ve been busy looking at the wonderful vintage shops that had stands at the Vintage by Hemingway fair back in July.

Objectify specialise in sourcing, restoring and upcycling unique pieces. Offering a range of extraordinarily stylish furniture, lighting and accessories for sale or hire.

Objectify‘s ability to transform key finds in to exciting yet functional furniture has attracted many top architects, designers, and enthusiasts. Polished printers drawers, vintage factory lighting, and totally one-off pieces such as a mirror made from a New York taxi door, are just some of the items on offer.

All pieces are sympathetically restored and sometimes reinterpreted. Objectify reuse, upcycle, recycle and reconstruct. They also appear to be based entirely online, so get over to www.objectify.co.uk and see what you can find…

A quick look at Fragile Design (2nd in the Vintage Shops series)

Now’s the time to take a quick look at another of the vintage shops that I discovered at the Vintage by Hemingway fair.

Fragile Design is based up at The Custard Factory in Birmingham (yeh, Birmingham my second home!). They sell a variety of furniture, ceramics, glass, jewellery and home accessories. All from great designers of the 50s through to the 80s including Eames, Panton, Jacobsen, Whitefriars, Troika, Robin and Lucienne Day.

You can’t beat a bit of teak! And good vintage scandi textiles are hard to come by.

If you would like to view any of the pieces on display then the shop can be found in Birmingham’s Custard Factory, a 10 minute walk to the Bullring, Selfridges and New Street.
